How to measure yourself

Jacket length

Measure from the base of your neck to the base of your thumb for a shorter jacket length. For a longer (traditional) jacket length, measure to the end of the thumb.

Chest

Measure your chest at the widest point, usually around the nipples. Don’t puff out your chest. Ensure there is one finger between your chest and the measuring tape.

Shoulder

Measure your shoulder from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, following the natural curvature of your back, without adjusting your posture.

Stomach

Measure your stomach at the belly button, without sucking it in. Ensure there is one finger between your stomach and the measuring tape.

Hips

Measure your hips from the end point at which your jacket length was determined (base of the thumb or end of the thumb). Ensure there is one finger between your hips and the measuring tape and that the measuring tape it parallel to the floor at all points.

Sleeves

Measure your arm from the shoulder seam to the wrist (start of the hand). To hide (shirt) cuffs, the sleeve length can be subtracted by 1 inch.

Back

Measure your back from the point at which your arm and back meet to the other side. Ensure you stand as you do normally.

Bicep

Measure the bicep at the widest part while flexing.

Wrist

Measure the wrist at the wrist bone.
